Firm recommits to local sourcing, backward integration | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News

Manufacturing firm, Henkel Nigeria, has reaffirmed its commitment to creating sustainable value for its, consumers, employees, as well as for the wider society and communities in which it operates. To achieve this, the firm said it is intensifying local sourcing efforts and the provision of multilevel jobs in the country, which aligns with the government’s backward integration policy. Since it entered the country in 2016, the company has actively worked to reduce Nigeria’s import dependency through local sourcing. Currently, Henkel has over 60 per cent of its raw and packaging materials sourced locally, as well as 80 per cent of services also locally sourced. The company has also been at the forefront of supporting the government and host communities.
